“Una visione personale della musica di Mike Ratledge” è il sottotitolo di questo album, che è un sentito omaggio di un musicista navigato come Beppe Crovella ad un suo collega che ha scritto pagine fondamentali della storia del rock con i Soft Machine tra la fine degli anni ’60 e l’inizio del decennio successivo.

Avevamo già avuto modo di apprezzare il bravissimo chitarrista indonesiano Tohpati con il suo apporto fondamentale per la band dei Simakdialog, ma questo musicista porta avanti anche una carriera solista di tutto rispetto e svariati altri progetti e queste sue varie esperienze sembrano trovare il loro naturale sbocco in questo interessantissimo album uscito a nome Tohpati Ethnomission.
